What are the key upgrades to the AD5X compared to the AD5M?
The AD5X offers the following upgrades:
- Upgraded Extruder Cutter: Enables automatic filament feeding and retraction, supporting a 4-color filament change module (IFS module) for multi-color printing.
- Higher Extruder Temperature: Upgraded to 300℃ for better material compatibility and advanced printing capabilities.
- Advanced smart features like auto filament refill, auto-feeding filament, and object exclusion for failed prints, creating a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Does the new IFS system support the older models AD5M/AD5MP?
No, the new IFS system is not compatible with the older models AD5M/AD5MP.
Can the AD5M be upgraded to an AD5X?
No, the AD5M cannot be converted into an AD5X. They are distinct models with different specifications and features.
What slicing software do you recommend for use?
We recommend using Flashforge's official Orca-Flashforge slicing software. Additionally, the third-party Orca-slicer software is also supported.
What are the shipping options for my order?

Does the AD5X support quick-swappable hot-ends? Is the replacement cost high?
Yes. The AD5X features a newly designed hot-end system that allows quick nozzle replacement only, significantly reducing maintenance costs.
Can the AD5X print multi-color with TPU materials?
Yes! It supports multi-color printing with semi-rigid TPU filaments (e.g.,TPU-64D).
What to do if the AD5X nozzle is clogged?
roubleshooting Step 1: Manually press the handle at the extruder, cut off the filament, then remove the guide tube and check if the filament tip is flat. If not, trim it to be flat, reinsert the guide tube and filament into the extruder, and then click for loading to check.
Troubleshooting Step 2: Remove the extruder and check if the filament is blocked inside it.
Is leveling/calibration required after replacing the nozzle?
Yes. It is recommended to perform automatic leveling to ensure high print quality as slight errors may occur during nozzle installation. The device will have leveling enabled by default before each print. A temperature calibration for the new nozzle is also required.
Can filaments form other brands be used?
Yes. You can use filaments from other brands, but certain parameter adjustments are required due to slight temperature differences in different filaments.
